As part of the “Novembre Numérique” programme, the French Institute in Hungary and the Hungarian Game Developers Association (HGDA) invite you to two days dedicated to new frontiers in digital storytelling and design.
This series of Franco-Hungarian meetings will explore the future of immersive and interactive creation — from usage of virtual reality to immersive experiences and game development.
How do mixed realities transform the creative process? What new ways of interacting and storytelling emerge within virtual worlds? How do immersive experiences reshape our sense of space and presence — both real and digital?
These questions and more will take centre stage during a series of panel discussions held at the Auditorium of the French Institute in Hungary on Friday, 28 November, from 4pm to 7pm. The event will feature leading French and Hungarian creators, developers, and innovators working in VR and video games, sharing insights from both artistic and technical perspectives.
Discussions will take place in French and Hungarian.
Free entry — registration required.
PROGRAMME
15:30 – Registration
16:00 – Opening Speech
16:15 - Rethinking spaces – When physical and digital realities merge
Through the study of Le Cénotaphe de Newton by Femme Fatale Studio, this panel delves into how mixed reality reshapes our perception of space and presence. The discussion will explore the creative and technological intersections where the physical and virtual blend — questioning what it means to inhabit, design, and experience spaces that exist both within and beyond the headset.
Participants:
- Anna Charrière, Producer (Femme Fatale Studio)
- Ákos Halász, VP of HGDA, Unreal Tech Artist (Kaos Lab) working on VR project and creating interactive exhibits for museum.
- Moderator: Anita Szegedi, VP of HGDA, Game Producer
17:30 – Small break
17:45 – Video games and VR – Between storytelling and interactivity
With the special participation of Innerspace VR, this panel dives into how virtual reality is transforming the art and craft of game development. From new narrative forms to evolving design challenges, we’ll explore how VR blurs the lines between storytelling and player agency — opening fresh creative possibilities and redefining how games are built, experienced, and shared.
Participants:
- Richard Turco, Producer (Innerspace VR)
- Ágnes Karolina Bakk, lead researcher Future Care Lab (MOME), founder Zip-Scene Conference, co-curator Vektor immersive section
- Moderator: Anita Szegedi, VP of HGDA, Game Producer
During the afternoon, alongside the event, participants will be able to discover VR works by Femme Fatale Studio and Innerspace VR in the Verrière from 15:30.
The works are also accessible on Saturday mornings, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Media Library and Micro-Folie of the French Institute in Hungary, free of charge upon registration for 30-minute slots.
